Domaine Cazottes - Natural wines

Our Terroir

  • Soil: limestone, limestone clay
  • Exposition: south, southeast
  • Superficies: 4 h
  • Agriculture: organic with the biodynamic practice.
  • Grapes variety: Mauzac Rose, Prunelart, Jurancon Noir.
  • Tanks: fibre, cement, amphorae

A Brief History

In 2010 with re-launching of a 12-generation family tradition – wine production. The first wines bottled were the Adèle (Mauzac Rose) and Rackham (Jurançon Noir) 2010 vintages, bottled in 2011. The current wine portfolio includes 4 different labels: Adele, Mauzac Rose, Prunelart, Rackham. In 2019 domaine has the 4 hectars of the vineyards in propriety.

In order to promove the territory the Cazottes wine portfolio add also the negoce wine made with the collegues from the region – Marcotte Blanc, Marcotte Rouge, Champetre Blanc, Champetre Rouge, Bullversant.

The natural wine

The choice of Natural wine is the result of a philosophical choice aimed at rediscovering the natural expression of the terroir. The vineyards and the cellar are certificated organic which means that we are not using any weed killers, pesticides, fertilizers or other synthetic products. Harvesting is manual and all the winemaking process sustain and respect our terroir.

Technical interventions that may alter the bacterial life of the wine are prohibited, as well as any addition of chemicals, with the exception, if necessary, of sulphites in very small quantities.

The maximum tolerated of total SO2 doses is 30mg/l for reds, 40mg/l for whites.
